WET weather and waterlogged pitches played havoc with football fixtures across north Hampshire once more at the weekend.

Basingstoke Town's home game against Concord Rangers in the Conference South was called off due to a waterlogged pitch at the Camrose.

However, with dry weather forecast for the rest of today, their trip to Boreham Wood looks set to go ahead this evening (kick-off 7.45pm). Visit basingstokegazette.co.uk/sport for live text coverage from Hertfordshire.

It was a similar story for many other teams in the area.

Hartley Wintney FC saw their Combined Counties League Premier Division trip to Raynes Park rained off. They have another game scheduled for tomorrow night, when they are due to travel to Epsom and Ewell.

Whitchurch United's trip to Sholing in the Wessex League Premier Division also fell foul of the weather. They are due to host Kingsclere in the Andover Open Cup tomorrow night.

In Wessex League Division One, Tadley Calleva saw their trip to Cowes postponed. They are due to travel to US Portsmouth on Saturday and Andover New Street next Tuesday.

Overton United's Hampshire Intermediate Cup trip to Sway was called off, with the tie rearranged for this coming weekend.

AFC Aldermaston have had another two games postponed in the Hampshire Premier League. Their home fixture against Colden Common fell foul of the weather on Wednesday and it was a similar story for the visit of Liss on Saturday.

Aldermaston are due to host Winchester Castle on Wednesday night, before travelling to Hedge End Rangers on Saturday. The Colden Common fixture has been rearranged for next Wednesday.

The weather also badly affected both the Basingstoke and District Saturday League and the Basingstoke and District Sunday League, with just three games taking place on each day.
