Adam Le Fondre scored a first-half hat-trick as Reading hammered visiting Bolton Wanderers 7-1, to move back into the Championship play-off places on Saturday afternoon.
Two close-range finishes and a precise strike by Le Fondre put Reading in control at 3-0 after 33 minutes.
There was still time before the break for Pavel Pogrebnyak to score from the penalty spot, after Alex Baptiste handled in the area.
Kaspars Gorkss stabbed in a fifth on the hour mark, Hope Akpan netted from close-range to make it 6-0, before a deflected strike from Nick Blackman completed the Royals magnificent tally.
The visitors scored a late consolation goal from David Ngog.
Reading manager Nigel Adkins said: "We were very clinical with our finishing and there's a big togetherness here. We didn't allow Bolton to play at all.”
The Royals are away at one of their play-off rivals Ipswich next on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
