IT HAS been a frustrating couple of weeks for us.

After a good win on Boxing Day, we were looking forward to following up with games against Gosport Borough, the return match at Farnborough and Tonbridge Angels. However, with two games being postponed and one abandoned at half-time we have now gone a while without a game.

What makes it more frustrating is that we feel we are in very good shape. With the signing of Louie Soares and the loan signings of Ben Wright and Matt Partridge, we have competition for places all over the pitch.

In training, everyone has been excellent and itching to get back to playing.

The postponed games mean we will have a lot of midweek matches between now and the end of the season – but if we can keep the squad fit then this will be great for us.

I strongly feel that we have enough strength within the squad to keep the team fresh and ensure that performances remain high. This obviously doesn’t guarantee results but I think we have given ourselves a good chance to be able to field a strong side, no matter who plays.

This week the academy boys have returned from their Christmas break and the first years will be taking their coaching level one badges.

Once this is completed we hope to be able to utilise them with our community set-up, which is growing all the time. It will be great to see them in schools and in holiday camps promoting the club.

Regards,

Jason
