That's all from me at Lakeside. Hopefully Paul will make it back next year. He's a lovely guy and it would be great if a Basingstoke company could come forward to sponsor him so he can compete at a few more tournaments.
I'm in the process of uploading a video interview with Paul Hogan after his dramatic defeat. He's disappointed but he should be very proud.
Hogan won more legs than Mitchell and averaged 29.01 for every dart he threw. He threw two 180s and 58 scores of 100 or more, hitting 46 per cent of his checkouts.
Great entertainment at Lakeside and a real shame for Hogan.
Reaction to follow.
MITCHELL BEATS HOGAN 3-2
That's harsh on Hogan - but he went off the boil in the last couple of legs. Again, he didn't score heavily enough to give himself a chance and while Mitchell took three darts to hit double 18, he did it to win the final set 5-3.
Hogan was well off his best and Mitchell takes advantage, hitting double 20 to move within a leg of victory.
He's unable to do it. Couldn't buy a treble early on and Mitchell takes out double top to level at 3-3.
A simple hold for Hogan, who takes out double 16 with his 15th dart to lead 3-2 in the final set. He is a leg away from the next round.

Hogan had three darts at double 10 and twice bent the wire, allowing Mitchell to take out double 20 and move within a leg of the next round. He has the darts as well.
But Hogan levels straight away. He was close to taking out 117 but Mitchell missed two darts at double 12 and Hogan took out double 10 to win. 1-1 in the decider.
Mitchell breaks Hogan's throw, hitting double 10 to take a crucial lead.
HOGAN WINS THE FOURTH SET
And we are into a decider. Mitchell had the darts in that leg but Hogan was always ahead and held his nerve to win the set.
Hogan hit a 180 early on but went off the boil after that. He only made 11 with one set and then busted on a finish.
Mitchell couldn't make him pay though, missing several doubles, and Hogan eventually took out double four to make it 2-0 in the fourth set.
Hogan gets the first leg of the set against the darts, taking out 141. Another great finish.
MITCHELL WINS THE THIRD SET
A big leg and Hogan cannot win it. He was behind throughout and didn't manage to get to a double before Mitchell hit double eight. He now leads 2-1 in sets and is throwing first in this one.
Mitchell levels it at 2-2 in the third set, hitting double 10 after leading throughout. Massive leg coming up.
Hogan holds his throw, taking out double 16 to go 2-1 up in the third set.

Hogan has the darts in this set and he takes the first leg with double 18, despite Mitchell making a 180 during the leg.
MITCHELL WINS THE SECOND SET
Hogan is close to winning the set, narrowly missing double 18 as he looked to hit 156. However, Mitchell is back to close out the set with double seven.
That was Hogan's highest check-out at Lakeside.
Hogan breaks right back with an outstanding check-out, knocking off 161 with three darts, hitting bullseye to make it 2-1 in the second set.
Mitchell goes 2-0 up in the second set, breaking Hogan's throw. High quality darts in the early stages but Mitchell missed three darts at doubles before putting Hogan away.
