BASINGSTOKE RFC will hope to upset the form book when National League Three London second-placed side Old Elthamians make the trip to Down Grange on Saturday.

’Stoke will be looking to build on their recent excellent performances against top four-sides which saw them lose narrowly away at leaders Dorking and at home to Tonbridge Juddian.

For the visit of Old Elthamians, the home side will welcome back from injury AndyHore, Adam Davies and Freddie Gleadowe and it is also expected Ollie John will figure after his return from New Zealand.

This is sure to bolster their line-up and ’Stoke who lost the reverse fixture 49-14 early in the season, are sure to show a marked improvement on Saturday.

Old Elthamians had a scrappy win over lowly Thurrock 34-7 in their last outing, but a week earlier ended Dorking’s 100 per cent record when they drew with them.

The action on Saturday kicks-off at 2pm and ’Stoke, having deserved to win their last home game against Tonbridge Juddians, will be hoping they have better luck this time around.

’Stoke coach Will Croker said: “Confidence in the camp is high at the moment after the results against Dorking and TJ (Tonbridge Juddians).

“We have nothing to lose going into the game and they need to keep winning as they are seven points behind Dorking.”

He added: “They have taken more yellow cards than any other club in this league, so they have not the best disciplinary record.

“So we have to put pressure on them from the start so they do not have a chance to settle and hopefully they will give away penalties that we can take advantage of.
