BASINGSTOKE Town boss Jason Bristow did some late Christmas shopping as he added three players to his squad.

They were strikers Louie Soares and Ben Wright, along with midfielder Matt Partridge.

Soares who has played at Southend, Aldershot and Barnet marked his debut on Boxing Day as he came off the bench and scored the final goal in Town’s 4-0 win over Farnborough.

The Reading-born striker has signed on a non contract basis and adds more firepower.

As does Basingstoke-born Wright who arrived on a month’s loans from Salisbury City and started the abandoned game at Gosport on Saturday.

Another player who returned for the game on the south coast, was midfielder Partridge, who previously had a two month loan spell at the club from Reading.

He returns on youth loan which should see him stay at the Camrose until the end of the season.

Talking about his latest additions Town manager Bristow said: “Louie (Soares) has been training with us for the past two or three weeks and started well for us scoring on his debut.

“Ben (Wright) is former Town player and someone we always keep track of. We look forward to him scoring plenty of goal while he is with us.”

“Matt was already been with us before so we know what he can do and will bring to the side.”

Town are next in action on New Year’s Day away at Farnbrough, before they entertain Tonbridge Angels on Saturday (kick-off 3pm). Admission for the home game is £1.
