BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies are through to the final of the North Hants Cup following a 7-2 win over hosts Winchester City Flyers in Sunday’s semi-final.

The hosts took an early lead but goals from Ayala Truelove and Tracy Jones had Town 2-1 ahead at half-time, though it took a string of fine saves from Erin Davis in the visitors’ goal to make sure they led at the break.

Josette Pearmine scored twice after the break to take the game away from Winchester, with Sian Wylie adding a fifth before the hosts got their second. Carla Mitchell’s strike and an own-goal completed a big win for the visitors, who will face Fleet Town Ladies in the final next year.

The reserves also beat Winchester City Flyers Reserves, Justine Mosley scoring all of their goals in a 4-2 victory, though they twice had to come from behind before scoring twice in the second half to claim the win.
