WE FACE another tough game this week as travel to Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday looking to get back on track in the league.

Stortford have had a solid start to the season and a great FA Cup run so it will be another very good test for us.

I expect them to be strong, organised and very hard to break down. They are a big side and will not be afraid to mix it up and go direct if passing it around is not going for them.

Last week we were left very frustrated after failing to pick up any points against league leaders Bromley. I thought our play deserved at least a point.

There have been a few games this season where we have deserved more than we have got, so we hope that changes very soon.

In certain games we have created chances and not taken them, while we have been defending well. We need to start turning possession and dominance into chances and goals because it puts a lot of pressure on the defence if we are not scoring.

I cannot fault the work-rate of the strikers and if we keep creating chances then I believe they will start scoring.

After Saturday we have three games in a short space of time, playing Farnborough twice, with a trip to Gosport Borough in between.

These are again going to be tough games but also great games. The Christmas period last year saw us record a fantastic 6-2 win over Farnborough that I am sure many of you remember very fondly.

The academy put in an excellent performance last Wednesday, narrowly losing to high-flyers Eastleigh. The side that started the game had four first-year players in it and they impressed.

It’s great to see the development of players and the performance levels increase, so a big well done to them.

Regards,

Jason.
