THE top two teams in Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One both suffered their first defeats of the season on Sunday.

Tron went down 2-1 away at Sporting Silchester despite Scott Winterbourne finding the net, while CI lost 3-0 away at Dayer's Fine Foods.

CI started well but Lee Neal put Dayer's ahead before half-time and the visitors lost a player to injury after the break. Neal got his second of the game to double the lead, with Alex Brown confirming victory for the hosts.

South View remain second in the Division Two table after inflicting a first away defeat of the season on RAF Odiham Blades.

It was comfortable for South View, with Matt Morris getting a hat-trick, Ashley Roberts scoring one and Kevin Cheeseman netting another from the bench as they won 6-3.

Skewers enjoyed a comfortable 7-1 win away at AFC Hook. Brett Denham and Richard Gary both scored twice, with singles Mike Dungate, Stephen Bean and an own-goal completing the scoring.

Hampshire Irons survived a second-half fightback from hosts Chineham Albion to win 3-2. Goals from Steve Bown, Jack Miller and Chris Arnold had the visitors 3-0 up at the break but Jake Burrows' double set up a nervous finale.

UWS reclaimed top spot in Division Three by inflicting a first defeat of the season on Team with a resounding 7-1 victory.

Chineham Athletic slammed struggling Sambuca 5-0. The opening goal came from a stunning volley from Dan Bloomer, while Steve Owen scored a brace, Ollie Owen found the net for the fourth goal and Jon Dawson completed the scoring.
