THE Basingstoke Bison were unable to chalk up five straight wins, as they lost 4-2 at the Slough Jets on Sunday night.
In an even first 20 minutes, the sides were only split by a strike from Slough’s Darius Pliskauskas.
The Bison equalised at 23:13, as man-of-the-match Nicky Chinn finished a move which involved Joe Rand and Miroslav Vantroba.
Two minutes later, the Herd took the lead as Rand scored after good work from Chinn and Aaron Connolly.
However, the Bison ran into penalty trouble and when Joe Baird joined Doug Sheppard in the sin bin, Slough made the most of the two-man advantage to score from Ales Padelek.
The same Jets import gave the Jets the lead in the final two minutes of the period, as he converted a pass from Ciaran Long.
The home side doubled their lead at 50:33, as Padelek completed his hat-trick, which turned out to be the last goal of the game.
This weekend, the Herd face a double header encounter against local rivals with the Bracknell Bees with the home game on Saturday (face-off 6.30pm).
