THE Abacus Employment Hatch Warren Flames and Hatch Warren Phoenix Blaze made the short trip to Chineham Tigers.

The Flames had a challenging first game with the Tigers as they had a considerable height and physical advantage.

That aside, the Phoenix ethos of ‘never give-up’ shone though as Charlie Barlow and Charlie North continued to either stem the flow of attack or attack the hosts with vigour at every turn.

The Blaze also entertained the spectators, workhorse Matthew Bull determined to drive the team forward.

Man-of-the-match Thomas Woodward and Dylan Brockbank quashed the flow from Chineham at every turn and when they did eventually break through, goalkeeper Josh Mugridge made the saves.

Max Shepherd was excellent in both games.

The Flames’ second game was just as tough as Toby Osborne played in defence and in goal.

However, it was not to be the Flames’ day as Stanley Garret and Freddy Green could not break down the Tigers.

The dangerous duo of Charlie Barlow and man-of-the-match Charlie North hit the woodwork and the rest of their shots were saved.
