Basingstoke under-18 Bison were unable to dent visiting leaders Bracknell Drones’ 100 per cent record, losing 7-2.

Both sides had English Premier League players in their line-up, with Danny Ingoldsby playing for the Herd, while Great Britain under-20 internationals Ivan Antonov and Sam Duggan suited up for the Drones.

Antonov opened the scoring, only for Ingoldsby to level as he converted a pass from Alex Sampford.

With less than a minute to go of the first period, Bracknell took the lead again through Duggan.

The second period was evenly matched and the Drones netted just once from Duggan.

Early in the final session, Duggan completed his hat-trick, but a minute later Ingoldsby scored his second of the game – putting away a pass from Lewis Jennings.

The last 20 minutes was peppered with penalties for both sides.

Bracknell scored another from Ziggy Beesley and then the Bison’s Elliott Dewey and Marc Lafrance clashed at 50:29. Both players picked up 2+2+10 penalties to see them sit out the reminder of the game in the sin-bin.

The Drones added two more goals from man-of-the-match Antonov and Beesley to complete the 7-2 win.

Basingstoke’s man-of-the-match was Jordan Lawday.

Travis Penny and Lucy Beal both scored as the Basingstoke under-12 Bison suffered defeat at local rivals Bracknell.

Beal scored their first goal on the powerplay and then Penny netted, assisted by Kody Sewell and Tyton Cathcart.
