ALDERMASTON RFC remain third in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship following a 24-17 victory over fifth-placed Risborough on Saturday.

Visiting Risborough took an early lead with a try but Aldermaston winger Jonny Newman touched down soon after, with Ian Martin's conversion putting the hosts ahead.

Aldermaston then took charge, with Cody Eibig scoring twice and Toby Barrowclough also crossing for a try to give the home side a 24-10 lead at half-time.

Risborough pressed after the break but they were only able to score one try, though Aldermaston had to survive a nail-biting final 10 minutes.

Aldermaston will move up to second if they can win again this Saturday, when they face a tough trip to Wheatley, who currently occupy that position.

Bottom side Kingsclere lost 35-10 at Berkshire Shire Hall. They host Crowthorne this Saturday.

Chineham RFC were handed a lesson by Hampshire Two leaders Fareham Heathens on Saturday.

Visiting Chineham made a strong start but Fareham opened the scoring against the run of play and never looked back. They dominated the rest of the game, scoring a total of four converted tries to win 28-0.

Chineham face an easier test this weekend, hosting struggling Stoneham at May's Bounty.

Overton were unable to build on their first-ever win in Hampshire One, going down 26-5 away at Romsey. They remain bottom of the table but have the chance to move up on Saturday, when they host the Isle of Wight, who are just three points above them.

Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier leaders Tadley RFC return to action following a week off on Saturday.

The table-toppers host Aylesbury Athletic at Red Lane on Saturday after going without a game last weekend. Second-placed Gosforth All Blacks missed the chance to usurp them at the summit, losing away at Farnham Royal.
