Saints’ international contingent could face each-other following the Brazil 2014 World Cup pot announcements for the draw on Friday.
England was drawn in Pot 4, which means Gaston Ramirez could come up against St Mary’s potential Three Lions players, Rickie Lambert, Jay Rodriguez, and Adam Lallana, for Uruguay, who have been drawn in Pot 1.
England is among the unseeded pot of European countries for Friday's draw for the 2014 World Cup finals, while Maya Yoshida and Japan could also come up against Roy Hodgson’s side, having been drawn in Pot 3.
FIFA have announced that the eight seeded teams in Pot 1 will be kept apart for the group stage in accordance with October’s world rankings.
The draw will be organised so that there will be no more than two European teams in any group of four countries, and all the South American teams will be kept apart.
England's placing could change before Friday, however, with one team moving to Pot 2. If that is the case the Three Lions, ranked 13th in the world, will face one of the seeded South American teams, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia or Uruguay.
The Brazil World Cup pots:
Pot 1: Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay
Pot 2: Algeria, Cameroon, Chile, Côte d’Ivoire, Ecuador, Ghana, Nigeria
Pot 3: Australia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Iran, Japan, Korea Republic, Mexico, USA
Pot 4: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, England, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia
