On-loan Saints striker Emmanuel Mayuka has hit a rich vein of form with French club Sochaux, scoring three goals in as many games in Ligue 1.
The Zambian attacker, who was shipped out of St Mary’s at the beginning of September after scoring his first, and only, goal for the club in the Capital One Cup 5-1 win over Barnsley, has been in inspired form for his new charges.
Sochaux are currently rock-bottom of the league and were beaten 5-1 by Toulouse on Saturday, although the 23-year-old did open the scoring.
The striker has also notched a vital goal in a 1-1 draw with Bastia, while he also netted in Sochaux’s 2-1 loss to Marseille.
In contrast, Dani Osvaldo and Rickie Lambert have failed to muster a goal for Saints in the defeats to Arsenal and Chelsea.
