BRADLEY Sutton was named Outstanding Sportsman 2013 for Modern Pentathlon at the 24th Hampshire Schools’ Sports Federation awards.

The 15-year-old, from Hatch Warren, pictured, received the Michael Austin Harlick Award at the Hampshire Council Offices at Winchester.

He was one of a number of talented teenagers in Hampshire to be honoured as sportsmen and women in sailing, hockey, cycling, trampoline, cross country running, badminton, squash, swimming, disability swimming, gymnastics, rugby, taekwondo, athletics, football, cricket and netball picked up awards.

The Brighton Hill Community School pupil received his trophy from Olivia Breen, a Paralympian bronze medal winner in the 4x100metre relay at the 2012 London Paralym-pics.

Sutton’s award came after a great 2013 that has seen him ranked seventh in his age group, and he is now part of the English Talent Programme.

He also represented Great Britain at the GB Youth International 2013 and retained his Biathle World Tour crown.

His ambition is to be selected for the Great Britain Youth Modern Pentathlon World Class Programme and earlier this month he enjoyed a superb victory in the under-17 Yorkshire Pentathlon.
