BASINGSTOKE Sports and Social produced a spectacular comeback to reach the second round of the North Hants Sunday Senior Cup.

The hosts were two down after just 25 minutes of their tie against FC Exchange but an own-goal made it 2-1 at half-time. Josh Mathurin levelled the scores after the break and Paul Couchman's late winner crowned a terrific turnaround.

CI FC won 7-2 away at Winchester City, with Oliver Knox hitting a hat-trick, Keith Davies bagging a brace and Paul Adams and Chris Kirby completing the scoring.

Republic of Chineham won 2-0 at Sporting Boyatt but the rest of the Basingstoke and District Sunday League sides suffered defeat.

Basingstoke Saints lost 4-2 at home the FC Chute Sports, Rick Pike and Matt Cuthbertson scoring for the losers, while Kaiser Wessex went down 2-1 at Andover Saints. Tron lost 5-4 at Barton Stacey, while Michael Abbott and Gary Ballard scored for Sporting Silchester as they lost 3-2 at Whitenap.

Skewers produced a fine second-half display to progress in the North Hants Chris Price Cup.

The visitors trailed Anton Arms 2-1 at half-time and were 3-1 down at one stage - but they hit back in style to win 7-3. Darren Gary led the way with a hat-trick, Karl Hanks scored twice and Rich Gary and Alex Denham also found the net.

Goals from Adam Nelson, James Hanley, Jake Burrows and Kieron Alleyne (2) saw Chineham through with a 5-1 win over Tidworth Town.

Eastrop Eagles saw off King Alfred 4-1. Ryan Tucker scored twice for the Eagles, with Carl Hasler and Chris Peart adding one apiece.

Lamb Inn scored eight second-half goals as they beat hosts Lee Filters 9-0. Ashley Elward scored twice, while Alex Lipscombe, Shaun Blackman, Louis Vickery, Carlos Gonzales, Reece Chapman, Daniel Dedman and Terry Carr also found the net.

RAF Odiham Blades won 8-3 at Halfway United but AFC Hook and South View did not fare so well.

Hook lost 7-2 to FC Central, Tim Barnett and Wayne Poole getting the losers' goals, while South View were beaten with the last kick of extra-time at Ropley.

South View trailed 1-0 and 2-1 but goals from Kevin Cheeseman and John-Paul Norman sent the game to extra-time. However, Ropley scored right at the end of the extra period to go through.

North Warnborough II beat Railway Club 5-1 to reach the second round of the North Hants John Ward Cup.

Warnborough were always in control, going 3-0 up early on. Railway pulled one back but two further goals from the visitors put the game beyond doubt.

Ryan Thorpe netted a hat-trick for Warnborough, while Trevor Rogers and Joe Reynolds were also on the scoresheet.

Sambuca were stung by visiting FILO Reserves. Gavin Phillimore opened the scoring and further goals from Luke Connolly and Robert Chandler had them 3-1 up with 15 minutes to go, but FILO scored three late goals to run out 4-3 winners.

Chineham Athletic beat Andover league side Wyke Down Argyle 4-0, with Paul Jones, Ben Owen, Steve Owen, and Paul Fox's penalty securing the win.

AFC Golden Lion enjoyed a 7-1 home win against Abbots Kitchen. Adam Robinson and Luke Manton both hit hat-tricks, with Chris Waller netting their other goal.

FC Everest comfortably beat visitors Lee Filters Reserves 7-1, while Team won a fiercely contested against Railway Tavern 6-4.
