Poch keeping Saints grounded
Another clean sheet also equalled their best ever defensive start to a season, the last time they managed that being the season they finished second.
Saints now have a fortnight until their next game, a clash against champions Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Pochettino said: “As was the case last week we always focus on the next game ahead and not the end of the season.
“We also need to understand that the higher up the table we are the more pressure that our players are going to have and they need to go through that learning process when a lot more of them is going to be expected.
“That’s what we are going to work on during the international break, to get the players to learn that lesson.
“We want to keep on improving for the next game ahead against Manchester United at Old Trafford.”
Speaking of the Swansea win he added: “I think the fact we got that early goal forced us to not take certain risks we were intending to take if we hadn’t scored that goal but I think we are on our way to establishing how we want to play in the future.
“Especially in the last 10-15 minutes of the first half we were lacking possession and that cost us a lot of problems.
“In the second half we were a bit more solid and scored that second goal. We even scored a third goal that was not allowed to stand, and I think that was unfair.
“When we scored that second goal everything became a lot more relaxed for us and that allowed us to see out the game.”
