The two sides have met 94 times in their history, across all competitions. Saints have won 38 matches, with there being 23 draws and 33 victories to the Eagles. The last time the two faced in the Premier League was in 2004/05 when both sides were eventually relegated. Both games that season ended in 2-2 draws. On the final day of the 1970/71 season Saints recorded their biggest win over Palace, a 6-0 drubbing at the The Dell. Goals from Jimmy Gabriel, Ron Davies, Brian O’Neil, Les Harfield and a brace from Mike Channon completed the rout. Most recently, two Rickie Lambert goals secured a 2-0 win at Selhurst Park in April 2012, in Saints' Championship promotion season. Current Saint Nathaniel Clyne was in the Palace side that day.
