Saints spirit helping new boys
Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his delight at the way Saints’ stars have welcomed the new signings into the club.
Jose Fonte revealed this week that the players had rallied around to help the new guys settle in and Pochettino is delighted with the response from his squad.
“What’s true is that we have a group of players who are always available to help each other, especially with the new signings – Victor, Dejan and Osvaldo,” he said.
“They are always happy to help them establish themselves in the city and so we are very pleased with the group and how they are basically good teammates towards each other.
“They do simple things such as picking them up from the hotel and bringing them back at the end of the day, taking them if they need to see a doctor or see a house they might be thinking about purchasing – just simple every day things that a teammate and a good friend would do.”
Pochettino is hoping for a good result, and some goals, at Liverpool this weekend.
“It’s not the main aspect that worries me because we have offensive players who can score goals,” he reflected.
“I’m happy because we have created many chances in the games that we’ve played and I know that the goals will come sooner or later.
“It’s something that doesn’t worry me because I’m more concerned with how the team is playing.”
He added: “We need to trust and believe in the players that are available to us.
“We need to develop our game and how we want to play that game, be aware of the team we are facing and the threats that can come from the team and to do that we need to put in a lot of effort and work during the week to be really well prepared for that game.”
