Overton United B spring surprise on Bengal Brassie
In Division Two of the Basingstoke and District Saturday League it was not a good day for Bengal Brasserie, who suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat at Berrydown against Overton United B.
A solo goal by Siyani Thomas gave Overton the lead, but the ever reliable
Kyle Buckland scored his eighth goal in three matches to level.
Overton then won the game through Robert Pereira and Darren White, but it was also due to the heroics of goalkeeper Steve Mackrill.
Basingstoke Irons look to be in the wrong division after chalking up their third very easy win.
This week it was 9-1 against an AFC Aldermaston A side who in fact took the lead through Tony Johnson.
Mo Barry, who had scored seven in his previous two matches, only managed two this week, with Dent scoring three, two own goals and a Jack Arnold single completed the scoring.
There was a rare win for Sherborne St John Reserves, who managed just two all last season, as they defeated AFC Berg 2-1.
Richard Bassett netted their first, before Kieran Allayne replied for Berg, but the winner came via sub Shane Pearce.
Twenty-Ten did well to draw 3-3 with DJ Telecoms. Pete Lomax opened the scoring for Telecoms, but Ryan Lupton in a one-on-one levelled.
Alex Brown restored the lead, but Carl Pearson headed home a long throw from Joe Osborne to level again.
On 83 minutes Jack Clarke nosed them in front, but a late goal from Lee Neal saw the spoils shared.
Newcomer Graham Dwyer gave Labour the lead in their 2-1 win against Basingstoke Athletic.
The equaliser was scored by Luke Allison, before Steve Burton scored the winner.
