Dani Osvaldo is on the bench for Italy's Group B game against Cazech Republic in Turin. If Italy win they book their spot at next year's World Cup in Brazil.
Steven Davis will captain Northern Ireland in their Group F World Cup qualifier in Luxembourg.
Artur Boruc starts in goal for Poland as they take on San Marino in Group H.
Full time in the Wales under-21 game.
Lloyd Isgrove played the full 90 minutes as they drew 0-0 with Moldova.
James Milner was recalled to the England starting line-up tonight as Roy Hodgson selected his expected side for the vital World Cup qualifier with Ukraine.
Danny Welbeck's absence through suspension created a vacancy from the team that defeated Moldova on Friday.
And, as he did against Moldova, Hodgson went for the additional defensive capabilities of Milner on the England left rather than the more attacking option of Ashley Young or untested Tottenham man Andros Townsend.
With the remainder of the England side remaining the same, it meant Frank Lampard became the eighth player to reach 100 caps.
At the head of Group H on goal difference from Montenegro, who are not in action this evening, victory would also take England four points clear of Ukraine with just two games remaining.
Whilst a point would not represent a bad evening's work, defeat would leave England facing a play-off at best, with Ukraine able to hold them off with maximum points next month even though the remaining matches for Hodgson's men are both at home, against Montenegro and Poland.
As previously reported on dailyecho.co.uk Roy Hodgson has been trying to play down Rickie Lambert's impact. A story from earlier today said...
England boss Roy Hodgson is keen not to pin all his World Cup hopes on Rickie Lambert's fairytale international career continuing.
With Danny Welbeck suspended and Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Andy Carroll all ruled out by injury, Lambert will be pitched into the biggest game of his career tonight as England take on Ukraine in Kiev.
Whilst victory would take Hodgson's side within touching distance of an automatic slot in next year's finals, defeat would hand the initiative to their hosts, who still have another match against San Marino to play.
Hodgson could not wish for Lambert to be in more confident mood after becoming the first England player to score in his first two games since Peter Taylor 37 years ago.
But he also knows the run cannot last forever.
"I would like to play down Rickie for his own sake because it is almost a fairytale that you get selected at 31 having played in the lower leagues, then come on in your debut and score a fantastic centre-forward's goal," Hodgson said.
"On top of that you then play an important game, score one, set up two and look as though you have never been outside an England set up in your life.
"That is some achievement.
"I am bit worried we are going to hang a bit too much on him (tonight).
"The important thing is that he plays his part in the team and makes certain he doesn't let us down in any way.
"Who knows? He might surprise us and add a third to the fairytale, but if he doesn't he is still going to be a player England will get some use out of in the future."
ENGLAND TEAM NEWS
England: Hart, Walker, Cole, Gerrard (c), Cahill, Jagielka, Walcott, Lampard, Lambert, Wilshere, Milner.
For the record the others away with their nations for games today are Steven Davis, Rickie Lambert, Artur Boruc, Dani Osvaldo and Gaston Ramirez.
Two Saints stars have already finished their international fixtures.
Maya Yoshida, who has found himself dropped down the pecking order so far this season, got a full 90 minutes as Japan defeated Ghana 3-1 in a friendly in Saitama. Shinji Kagawa, Yashuhito Endo and Keisuke Honda got the goals for Japan in the second half after Frank Acheampong had given Ghana a 24th minute lead.
The man who took Yoshida's place in the Saints team, £8.5m centre half Dejan Lovren, was also playing in Asia as Croatia took on South Korea.
Lovren played the whole game as Croatia won 2-1 with goals from Domagoj Vida and Nikola Kalinic doing the damage.
Lloyd Isgrove is currently in action for the Wales under-21 side as they play in Moldova. Isgrove started the game which kicked off at 5pm BST.
Hello and welcome to the Daily Echo's live coverage of Rickie Lambert's third England appearance against Ukraine in Kiev.
The Saints striker has scored in both of previous two appearances for his country.
A third would be very welcome for Roy Hodgson's men tonight as they play a crunch match in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
We will be providing live updates and images as the game progresses and keeping you abreast of the other Saints stars in international action today.
