Friendly defeat for London Irish
LONDON Irish slipped to a 27-13 defeat in their final pre-season friendly away at Munster on Friday night.
The Exiles, who play their home games at the Madejski Stadium, took the lead on four minutes with a penalty from Iam Humphreys but Munster levelled with a kick of their own before half-time.
The visitors then got the first try of the game shortly after the break, flanker Gerard Ellis touching down after strong running from Guy Armitage and Sailosi Tagicakibau.
Humphreys converted to make it 13-3 but that was as good as it got for Irish as Munster winger Ronan O’Mahony claimed a hat-trick of tries and JJ Hanrahan completed the scoring with an individual effort.
