Basingstoke Town 2 Staines Town 1
That's four wins out of five for Basingstoke, who are up to second in the Conference South table.
Not a great game. Staines probably shaded possession but the hosts had the better chances and could have won by more.
Elsewhere, Southampton lost 1-0 at Norwich City, while Reading were 1-0 winners at Yeovil.
See The Monday Gazette for reports and reaction from all of today's games.
There will be three minutes of added time for the hosts to survive. Staines seem to be running out of ideas.
Almost an equaliser for the visitors. Joe McDonnell flaps horribly at a cross he probably should catch missing his punch. The ball falls for Joe Hughes, but Wes Daly makes a good block.
Expect the young 'keeper to face a few more of those type of crosses before the end of the game.
Not long left now. Can Town see it out?
At Yeovil, Adam Le Fondre has given Reading the lead from the penalty spot.
The ball breaks to Kezie Ibe on the right side of the area but he can only slice wide.
Troy Ferguson is straight into the action but his curling effort flies over the Town goal.
DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION - Staines Town - Troy Ferguson and Erivaldo Felix on for Ashley Lodge and Max Worsfold.
Simon Dunn fires well over from an acute angle.
That's a third fine chance to make it 3-1. Neil Barrett's excellent pass puts Manny Williams in the clear. His shimmy beats goalkeeper Jack Turner but gives Lewis Ferrell the chance to get back on the line and clear the shot away.
The ball breaks to Louie Theophanous in the area but he takes a touch too many and is crowded out.
Another good chance for the hosts. Andrew Jenkinson's excellent pass puts Adam Green away down the left and his cross finds Manny Williams at the far post.
It's a difficult chance and Williams' volley is into the ground, allowing Jack Turner to beat it away.
In Norwich, Southampton are losing 1-0, Nathan Redmond with the goal for the home side.
That should have been 3-1. Simon Dunn's pass puts Kezie Ibe in the clear but he fails to beat Jack Turner, the Staines goalkeeper saving at the striker's feet as he attempted to lift it over him.
Joe McDonnell flaps at a cross but Town are reprieved when an attacker handles.
Looks like Simon Dunn is going to play on the left side of the front three, with Andrew Jenkinson slotting into the midfield.
SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Andrew Jenkinson on for Shaun McAuley
SUBSTITUTION - Staines Town - Joe Hughes on for Dan Brown (63 min)
A bit better from Town. They have enjoyed a bit more possession in the last five minutes, without creating any real chances.
That's a decent save though, Joe McDonnell diving full-length to his left to keep out Huw Johnson's effort from just outside the area.
Staines are on top at the moment. Town just can't keep the ball.
Bit of pressure for Staines - but they never looked like troubling Joe McDonnell.
It's more of the same at the start of the second half. Both sides are finding it hard to break through the other's midfield.
Elsewhere, both Reading and Southampton were drawing 0-0 at half-time.
Simon Dunn fires well over from the edge of the area. A decent move down the right.
So proud of my brother playing first team football for Basingstoke today. Good luck :) #football #goalkeeper #basingstoke #BTFC— @kate4mcdon 31 August 2013
Basingstoke kick-off the second half.
That summary makes the half sound a bit better than it was. Both sides are trying to play but the ball was in midfield a lot.
Staines will be a bit disappointed to be behind. Not much between the sides.
FIRST HALF ACTION
Apologies for that. The whole site seemed to go down there.
Anyway, here is what happened in the first half.
Staines had the first shot of note, Louie Theophanous firing just over after Joe McDonnell's punch from a corner only reached the edge of the area.
The visitors then took the lead on 13 minutes. It was a great run from THEOPHANOUS, who picked the ball up just inside the Town half and evaded four or five tackles before slotting past McDonnell. The defence did not cover themselves in glory though.
Town levelled just four minutes later, KEZIE IBE holding off the Staines goalkeeper to head Manny Williams' corner into the net from close range.
Simon Dunn then had the chance to put his side ahead after great play from Williams. The midfielder's header lacked a bit of power and was into the ground but it was still a good save by Jack Turner.
Jay Gasson made a great block to deny Theophanous a second after Stephane Ngamvoulou's strong run, while, at the other end, Shaun McAuley shot into the side netting after a good move.
WILLIAMS put the hosts ahead on 41 minutes, firing a free-kick from the left wing into the near post, beating Turner. He clawed the ball away, but the assistant ruled it had crossed the line.
Basingstoke Town 2 Staines Town 1
Staines get the game under way. They are shooting towards the Town End of the ground in the first half.
And here they come. The two teams make their way out for the pre-match rituals.
Town are in their traditional blue and yellow, with Staines wearing all white.
The teams are back in the changing rooms ahead of the start of the game.
More news on the injury front. Louis Wells and Robbie Matthews are struggling with ankle injuries, David Ray is still recovering from illness and Robbie Rice is not 100 per cent right after suffering a knock to the head.
Elsewhere this afternoon, and also kicking off at 3pm, Reading are at Yeovil in the Championship, while Southampton are at Norwich City in the Premier League. I'll do my best to keep you up to date with both of them.
London Irish lost 27-13 in a pre-season friendly at Munster last night.
The two teams are warming up in bright sunshine, but it's not too warm. A great day to play football.
Basingstoke Town: McDonnell, Smart, Green, Barrett, Gasson, Adams, Daly, Dunn, Ibe, Williams, McAuley. Subs: Johnson-Schuster, Maylan, Parker, Jenkinson, Green.
Staines Town: Turner, Ming, Brown, Ngamvoulou, Ferrell, Ifil, Brown, Lodge, Theophanous, Johnson, Worsfold. Subs: Akinsanya, Hughes, Ferguson, Felix, Merson.
Plenty of changes for Town, who seem to have some sort of injury crisis already.
The big news is that goalkeeper Louis Wells misses out against his former club due to injury. Youngster Joe McDonnell takes over between the sticks.
Striker Robbie Matthews is also out, Shaun McAuley taking his place in the line-up, while Nathan Smart will play at right-back in the absence of both Robbie Rice and David Ray.
Jordace Holder-Spooner and Nathan Campbell remain on the sidelines with a dislocated shoulder and hamstring problem respectively.
There are some unfamilier names on the bench in the form of young defender Kieran Maylan, Academy striker Stuart Parker and young goalkeeper Kieran Green.
Good afternoon and welcome to live text coverage of Basingstoke Town's Conference South match against Staines Town here at the Camrose.
