Chained race ends in banger carnage
SIX of Fleet Motor Club's, Aldermaston Raceway banger drivers took to the track in a chained side-by-side race last Sunday.
Four drivers from Basingstoke Anthony Dean, - Lee Jones, Michael Brewer and Martyn Perkins and two from Tadley Frederick James and Dan Fowler.
All six completed a few laps with their chains intact, only to encounter a near miss roll over on almost every lap.
The crowd were bemused by the spectacle and fascinated by the efforts each and every driver put into the whole race.
It was stopped after Dean and James experienced a roll over, putting car Dean's car almost on top of James car.
Needless to say, everyone was safe and well and the race became a destruction derby minus the chains and was eventually won by the 2013 championship leader James.
The next event at the Raceway will be on Sunday September 1 which will see teams of four bangers in action.
The action starts at 11.30am and runs until around 4.30pm and admission is £10 for adults and children £5.
