Basingstoke Strikers find the going tough at tournament
THE Basingstoke Strikers disability football team were unable to add to their haul of silverware at the Four Clubs Tournament in Bordon.
The Strikers showed great spirit in very hot conditions as they took on some strong sides, including teams from Southampton and Bournemouth, but had to settle for fair play medals at the end of the tournament.
Their man of the tournament was goalkeeper Barry Bridges, who made a string of fine saves, while Sam Heath also impressed with his strong running and tackling.
