THREE of the Beechdown teams are already making their mark in their respective Basingstoke and District Tennis League Mixed divisions.

The A team have moved to the top of Division One after a 7-1 win against previous leaders Overton A with Tina and Simon Wood winning all their sets.

The C team are taking Division Three by storm after another two convincing results, 8-0 against Totally Tennis B and 7-1 over Kingsclere with Hossam Ashraf/Clare Munns getting a maximum. Meanwhile in Division Four, the D team are challenging for the promotion positions. Despite going down 8-0 at RSF B due to injury problems they followed this up with a 7-1 win against Odiham B with Jane Freer/Alex Wood being unbeaten.

Other results in the Mixed divisions saw Aldermaston A scrape a hard fought 5-3 win against Goodworth Clatford in their first match in Division One.

The Overton B team of Sheila Shields/Eric McCann and Karen Ollive/Keiran Hughes gave them an 8-0 win over Oakley B in Division Two.

Another team to secure the same result in the division were James Barrett/Amelia Cox and Chris Wise/Karen Holt for RSF A at Preston Candover A.

Julie Frankland and Paul Rattue continued their good form for Oakley A in a 7-1 win against Mortimer A.

Aldermaston B enjoyed a good 7-1 win in Division Three against Hook A thanks to a maximum from Rosemary Boast/Colin Bennett.

Sherborne and Kingsclere fought out a hard earned draw while Totally Tennis B beat Oakley C 7-1. No pair managed to win all their sets in the 5-3 win for Odiham C against Whitchurch in Division Four.

Andover A continue to dominate Ladies’ Division One after a 6-2 win against Beechdown A with Claire Coomer/Clare Reid once again unbeaten.

Old Basing A have moved up the division after two good wins, a 6-2 result at RSF and an even closer match with Aldermaston A winning 5-3.

Karen Causley/Helen Li won all their sets for Goodworth Clatford A in a 7-1 win at Sherborne as did Tina Wood/Clare Munns for Beechdown A who recorded the same scoreline at Aldermaston A.

The top two in Division Two fought out a draw as Overton took a point from their trip to Preston Candover with Zoe Taylor/Karen Ollive winning all their sets for the visitors.

Helen Li/Rowena Thorne were unbeaten for Goodworth Clatford B in their 5-3 win against Andover B.

Totally Tennis A drew with Odiham.

Mortimer A look pretty much unstoppable in Division Three following a third straight win, 8-0 at Whitchurch.

Winchester moved up to second place after two draws against Aldermaston B and at Beechdown B despite a maximum for Ali Coughlan/Jane Freer for the home team.

The same Beechdown couple repeated the same feat to give the team another draw this time with Mortimer B.

Old Basing A continue to lead Men’s Division One with defending champions Andover A and Kingsclere A in hot pursuit.

The Old Basing team won their latest match 6-2 at Oakley A while Andover won 8-0 against Waverley A and have dropped just the one set in their opening three matches.

Meanwhile Kingsclere A have also won their first three matches following 6-2 results against Goodworth Clatford A and Waverley A with Daniel Cole/Steve Mills winning all their sets in the Goodworth match and Chris Pearce/Nigel Baker taking their sets against Waverley.

RSF A have recorded their first points of the season with 5-3 successes against Oakley A and Overton A and a maximum from Tom Perkins/Simon Wood gave Beechdown A a 7-1 win against Oakley A.

Aldermaston A have moved to the top of Division Two following a 6-2 win against Winchester and an 8-0 win at Oakley B thanks to their team of Tim Maish/Steve Bristow and Dave Bull/Pete Hillman.

A maximum from Ray Wilson/Sam Brill gave Oakley B their first points in a 7-1 win against Beechdown B.

The Beechdown team fought back in their next match to record a 6-2 success at Kingsclere. Waverley B have taken the lead in Division Three with a 7-1 win against Overton B thanks to a maximum from Tim Clist/E Shakri and a 6-2 win at Goodworth Clatford C.

Paul Hancock/Paul Saunders were unbeaten for Odiham A in their 7-1 win at Aldermaston B were Drew Robinson/Eric McCann for Overton B in their 7-1 win against Mortimer B. Mortimer A and Goodworth Clatford C drew their match and Hook beat BDH 5-3.

Division Four saw three draws for Oakley C against Andover C, Totally Tennis B and Odiham B with no pairs from any of the teams winning all their sets.
