HOME skaters enjoyed great success in the Basingstoke Open, winning four golds and 17 medals in total.

More than 60 Basingstoke skaters took part in various classes in an event that attracted more than 400 entries.

The home skaters enjoyed a clean sweep in the level eight men advanced free programme as Oliver Parrington-Tyler took gold, Sam Tudgay won silver and Christopher Pattenden completed the podium with a bronze.

Talulla Corbett enjoyed a double success as she won the solo exhibition ladies and men and also the level nine ladies’ junior free programme.

Danielle Harrison completed the gold haul for the host club as she took the level 10 ladies senior free programme.

Caitlin Marsh picked up two medals, taking a silver in the solo exhibition ladies and men before pairing up with Isla Milne to take bronze in the twos to fours exhibition.

Other silver medals were won by Ellen Townsend (beginner ladies nine years), Annabel Weir (beginner ladies 11 years), Laura Eagle (level one ladies 11 years) and Kirsty Issaac (level three ladies 11 years and under).

Basingstoke team Jackson 12 also took silver in the show number. The team comprised Talulla Corbett, Oliver Parrington-Tyler, Megan Johnson, Emily Milne, Isla Milne, Caitlin Marsh, Sam Tudgay, Verity Carruthers, Esther Carruthers, Ella Lacey, Sadie Kitto, Alyx Smith and Ella Deick.

Bronze medals went to Eliza Hubberstey (beginner ladies 11 years), Luke Baker (beginner men 11 years and over), Jessica Gill (level five ladies 11 years and under) and Esther Carruthers (level 6 ladies).
