HAMPSHIRE League Regional Division Two North leaders Odiham and Greywell needed just 16.2 overs to see off visiting Andover IV.

Opening bowlers Phillip Thomas (5-8) and Russell Henley (4-15) made short work of the Andover batting line-up, taking all nine wickets to fall in just 12.4 overs as the visitors were skittled out for just 28.

Odiham’s opening batsmen then made short work of the meagre target, Paul Voisey and Ed Hellings getting 12 runs each as they knocked off the runs in just four overs to complete the easiest of 10-wicket wins.

St Mary’s are doing their best to keep pace with Odiham and they sit third after beating visiting Steep II by five wickets. Rafnas Kandi took 4-22 as Steep were dismissed for 123 – and the hosts got home for the loss of five wickets.

There was a local derby at Herriard, with Old Basing II claiming a 54-run win. Richard Dane made an unbeaten 68 and Raj Kumar 51 as the visitors reached 206-6 before bowling Herriard out for 152, Malcolm Curtis taking 3-26 and David Smith 3-30.

Bottom side Hartley Wintney III lost by 84 runs at home to Aldershot IV. Tommy Flanders made 89 as the hosts attempted to chase down 216-3, but they were bowled out for 132.

Burghclere lost by nine wickets at Easton and Martyr Worthy II after being bowled out for 118.

Jon Bennett smashed his way to an unbeaten 126 as Basingstoke and North Hants IV moved up to third in Division One North with a 186-run win over visiting Bentworth.

Bennett’s century helped the hosts post 276-5 and Raza Mirza then took 3-21 as the visitors were bowled out for just 90 in reply.

Ashford Hill claimed a three-wicket win over visiting Ropley II. Chasing Ropley’s 230-4, Mike Softley hit an unbeaten 72 to see his side home for the loss of seven men.

There were also wins for Oakley and Sherfield on Loddon. Oakley bowled visiting Longparish out for 77, Tommy Holbrook taking 3-18, and knocked off the runs for a five-wicket win, while Sherfield beat hosts St Mary Bourne in a tight finish. Steve Dummer made 59 as the visitors reached 181-7 but St Mary Bourne were just six runs short when the final wicket fell.

However, there were defeats for struggling Rotherwick ITW and Kingsclere. Rotherwick are bottom after going down by 181 runs at Liss, being bowled out for 90 chasing 271-8. Kingsclere bowled visiting Over Wallop out for 198, Paul Gundry taking 4-44, and, while Keith Enters made an unbeaten 72, the hosts were restricted to 165-5, losing by 33 runs.

Dan Moore’s unbeaten 101 helped Hook and Newnham Basics IV to a 39-run win over home side Silchester in Division Three North East.

Lee Jones took 3-22 for Silchester but Moore’s innings helped the visitors to 197-6 and, while David Minifie made 76, Andy Hook took 3-7 as the hosts were bowled out for 158 in reply.

There was also a century for Odiham and Greywell II’s Charlie Parish as his side beat bottom-of-the-table Ramsdell II by 140 runs. Parish made 102 not out as the visitors reached 226-5 before restricting Ramsdell to 86-8, Peter Hodgson taking 4-19.

Overton II beat visiting Compton and Chandler’s Ford III by seven wickets, Tony Glass making 77 not out and Andy Gould an unbeaten 63 as they chased down 232-8.

There was also a win for AWE Tadley II, who beat Tichborne Park III by 45 runs after making 192, Lewis Maton taking 4-21 as the visitors were bowled out for 147.

Oakley II claimed a comfortable 10-wicket win at Herriard III in Division Four North East. Naveen Velumani took 4-16 and Dan Sumner 3-5 as the hosts were skittled out for 29, a target that Oakley’s openers were able to chase down.

Herriard II also lost, going down by 88 runs at Holybourne II. John Holder took 3-31 as the home side reached 216-8 and, while Kevin Peachey made 51, Herriard were bowled out for 128 in reply.

Ashford Hill II went down by four wickets at Compton and Chandlers Ford IV after making just 98-8, though Mat Vickery did take 3-16 in the hosts’ winning reply.

Old Basing III were bowled out for 114 by visiting Easebourne and while Ammar Khan took 3-13, the visitors got home to win by three wickets.

Whitchurch II lost by five wickets at Wherwell in Division Four North West after being restricted to 162-8.
