Basingstoke RFC to offer free coaching course

RUGBY-LOVING teenagers are being invited to take part in a free ‘leadership through rugby’ course at Basingstoke RFC over the Easter holidays.
The course, which will run on Wednesday April 10 and Thursday April 11, is aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds and will result in participants earning a Level Two Award in Leadership through Rugby Union.
Youngsters taking part will complete a Rugby Ready Course on the first morning and a TAG Rugby Course in the afternoon, before learning about event management, organisation and co-ordination the following morning.
The final part of the course will see participants plan and contribute to a TAG Rugby event at the club at some point in the coming months.
Successfully completing the course would result in participants gaining not only the Level Two Award, which can lead towards a Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure, but also certificates in TAG Rugby and Ready Rugby.
