A PAIR of Basingstoke RFC youngsters were rewarded for their efforts over the course of 2012 when they were invited to the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane’s sports reception.
Kurtis Eagle and Will Joyce both received nominations for the 2012 Basingstoke and Deane Sports Awards and travelled to the Mayor’s Parlour for a special reception.
Joyce, a member of the club’s under-16 squad, was nominated for the Junior Sportsman Award.
In addition to playing for Basingstoke, he trains with London Irish’s Gold Squad, regularly turns out for Hampshire and attended a two-day England training camp last year.
Director of rugby James Croker nominated Academy player Eagle for the Young Volunteer Award due to the time he commits to the club, especially for the work he has done on the tag rugby programme.
