Saints boss to face FA misconduct charge?

Mauricio Pochettino Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino is still waiting to hear if any charges will be brought against him by the Football Association after he confronted referee Mark Clattenburg following Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Norwich.

The Saints boss could face disciplinary action after remonstrating with the official over his controversial decision to award the Canaries a penalty in added time for an alleged foul by Luke Shaw on Grant Holt.

Pochettino made his displeasure clear after the final whistle, as he stormed on to the Carrow Road pitch to speak to Clattenburg.

As of last night, the FA had not yet taken a view of the incident, although they indicated they may do so today.

Saints could also be in danger of a fine after some of their players angrily surrounded Clattenburg following the game’s major flashpoint.

Fortunately for the club, though, the decision at least did not cost them anything in terms of points, as Artur Boruc produced a brilliant full-stretch save to keep out Holt’s subsequent spot kick.
