Poison beat Hook for a second time
12:00pm Tuesday 12th March 2013 in Sport By Peter Raynbird
POISON fielded an ineligible player when they beat Hook 4-1 back in October, so the Basingstoke and District Saturday League ordered this Premier Division game be replayed.
Apart from two opening chances missed by Dale McKee and Jon Noakes, Poison played all the football and went into a four-goal interval lead.
Jon Flanagan put them ahead, Colin Jones put Ashley Elward through for the second and then Vincent Mundane beat Mike Sewell from 25 yards. Shaun Blackman lobbed in the fourth just before half time.
Hook pulled one back when they were awarded a penalty. Tom Davies’ kick was saved by the goalkeeper Davies followed up to net the rebound.
Noakes went on to hit first the post and then the bar, while Alex Eastman also hit the bar before scoring Hook’s second late on.
Bramley United and Welly Old Boys also claimed Premier Division wins. See The Monday Gazette for all of the action from Saturday's games.
