Tadley look to upset league leaders

Danny Vickers was among the Tadley scorers against Stockbridge.
TADLEY Calleva manager Danny Dolan heaped praise on his in-form side after two wins in a week saw them move up to sixth place in the Wessex League Division One table.
Calleva came away from fifth-placed Petersfield with an impressive 1-0 win last Saturday courtesy of a Brett Denham strike, before a comprehensive 5-0 win over Stockbridge on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday, Dolan’s side took the lead midway through the first half through a Denham volley, before Dan Vickers added a second minutes later with a diving header.
A James Tennant header and a 40-yard wonder goal from Scott Kinge put Tadley out of sight with a commanding 4-0 lead at the break, before Denham completed the rout with his second two minutes from time.
Tadley now face a tough test as they host top of the table Cowes Sports on Saturday, but Dolan insists they have nothing to fear.
Dolan said: “It has been a fantastic week for us and I am so proud of the players and how far we have come as a club.
“At the start of the season I gave us a target of finishing in the top eight but we are now sixth.
“We have proven we are capable of winning any game on our day and we will have nothing to fear against Cowes Sports.
“I fully believe we can beat them, especially at home where we have such a good record.
“We thoroughly deserved both the wins and we have managed to keep two clean sheets as well, I couldn’t ask for anything more.
“I am relishing the game this weekend and if we play as we have been recently, who knows where we might end up.”
