FINAL SCORE - Basingstoke Bison 2 Slough Jets 1 (4-4 on agg) - Slough win on penalty-shots
An agonising defeat for the short-benched Bison, who worked their socks off tonight. In the end, I feel the injuries might have cost them as they looked jaded in the latter stages.
Apologies for the battery failure. If I do this again, I'll try to find a power point!
See The Monday Gazette for a full report and all of the reaction to tonight's game.

The Jets call a time-out with just eight seconds left.
10:24pm
Close for the Jets there, Mindy Kieras seeing his effort from centre ice smuggled just over by Stevie Lyle.

A bad Bison change gives Slough a chance but Stevie Lyle makes the save.
10:20pm
Big chance for Tony Redmond, who evades a defender but cannot beat Gregg Rockman in the Slough goal.

Overtime is under way.
10:16pm
END OF REGULATION TIME - Basingstoke Bison 2 Slough Jets 1 (4-4 on agg)
Slough had a couple of chances in the last minute but Stevie Lyle made the saves - and we're going to five minutes of sudden death, four-on-four overtime.
10:12pm
Both sides are back to full strength as we enter the final two minutes. It's very tight, with overtime looming.
10:09pm
Both sides are down to four again at 55:58. Greg Owen and a Slough player go in for holding.
10:03pm
The short-benched Bison look a little jaded. They created nothing on that powerplay.
9:59pm
BISON POWERPLAY
They needed this. Slough were looking dangerous and the powerplay should give the Bison some respite. Michael Wales goes to the bin, two minutes for boarding at 50:39.
9:59pm
Stevie Lyle is a busy man at the moment and he saves from Michael Wales when the Slough man gets past the home defence.
9:55pm
Slough mount a good attack but Stevie Lyle is equal to it, making three decent saves.
9:53pm
The teams are back to full-strength.
9:52pm
Joe Greener forces a decent save out of Gregg Rockman.
9:52pm
Both sides are down to four at the moment.
9:52pm
That was a bit of a mess but both sides are now back to full strength and Nicky Watt goes close for the hosts, Gregg Rockman with the save.
Then there's a real scramble at the other end. Stevie Lyle does well to keep the puck out amid some flailing sticks.
9:43pm
BISON POWERPLAY
Slough put too many imports on the ice and earn a penalty, meaning the Bison will have a 5-on-3 advantage for a while in a few seconds.
Scratch that, it's been cancelled.
9:38pm
BISON POWERPLAY
They're back on the powerplay, 4 on 3, as Darius Pliskauskas goes to the bin for high sticks at 40:37.
9:38pm
BISON PENALTY
The powerplay only lasts seven seconds as Jaroslav Cesky goes to the sin-bin for high sticks.
9:37pm

The third period is under way - and the Bison start it with a two minute powerplay.
9:19pm
END OF SECOND PERIOD - Basingstoke Bison 2 Slough Jets 1 (4-4 on agg)
Thats a great period for the Bison. They were the better side and have pulled level on aggregate.
They will start the final 20 minutes with a powerplay as well, following a two minute penalty for roughing earned by Slough's Michael Wales on the whistle.
9:09pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Bison 2 Slough Jets 1 (4-4 on agg)
And we're all square at 36:20. It's a good goal too, Nicky Watt making ground down the right before firing the puck across goal for Jaroslav Cesky to score at the far post.
9:09pm
Again the hosts fail to make the most of a man advantage. They had more efforts this time, Craig Rand and Joe Miller both testing Gregg Rockman.
9:07pm
BISON POWERPLAY
It's Bakrlik Frantisek who's in trouble again, this time taking two minutes for cross checking at 34:06.
9:05pm
Joe Miller had the best chance of that powerplay, just failing to force the puck in from close range. The Bison seem a bit shot shy, trying to walk it in.
9:01pm
BISON POWERPLAY
Tony Redmond hits the ice clutching his head after being caught by a high stick from Bakrlik Frantisek. The Bison fans bay for a game penalty but it's only two minutes at 31:50. Redmond seems okay though.
9:00pm
A couple of decent chances for the hosts in that powerplay, with Greg Owen and Joe Miller both going close, but they did not manage to score and level the tie.
8:55pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Bison 1 Slough Jets 1 (3-4 on agg)
The Bison are very much back in the tie. Joe Miller does well down the left, skates across the front of the net and the puck somehow sneaks in past Gregg Rockman.
Alex Symonds gets the assist at 29:15 and to add insult to injury, it was on a delayed penalty, so Slough are now a man light for two minutes.
8:55pm
Slough are on top at the moment and Adam Greener forces a save out of Stevie Lyle.
8:49pm
Greg Owen had the best chance of the powerplay, shooting through bodies, but Gregg Rockman just about kept it out and the Jets are back to full strength.
8:46pm

The Jets have too many men on the ice and the Bison get a powerplay at 22:21.
8:45pm
Good work from Jaroslav Cesky down the right but the Bison are unable to force the puck home.
8:43pm
FACE-OFF
The second period is under way. Bison had 20 seconds of powerplay remaining but Slough held out.
8:26pm
END OF THE FIRST PERIOD - Basingstoke Bison 0 Slough Jets 1 (2-4 on agg)
The Bison had a couple of decent efforts before the end of the period, with Slough a man light, but Gregg Rockman kept them out.
They need two goals to pull level now.
8:25pm

Slough's Bakrlik Frantisek gets two minutes for tripping at 18:20.
8:24pm
A good chance for the Bison's Greg Chambers in front of the net but Gregg Rockman makes the save.

8:03pm
Slough have a couple of chances to further extend their lead but Lyle saves, while at the other end, the Bison force the Slough stopper into a sharp save.
7:56pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Bison 0 Slough Jets 1 (2-4 on agg)
Now the Bison must overhaul a two-goal deficit. They were having a spell of pressure, with Zach Sullivan and Jaroslav Cesky both going close but Slough broke to devestating effect.
Bakrlik Frantisek links up with Towalski, who beats Stevie Lyle to open the scoring at 2:59.
7:50pm
Slough go straight on the attack and it's an early save for Bison netminder Stevie Lyle.
7:49pm
FACE-OFF
After some drawn out introductions and the national anthem we are under way at the Basingstoke Arena.
7:40pm
The warm-ups are over. They seemed to consist of a lot of shooting practice and very little else.
7:37pm
Slough lead 3-2 from the first leg a few weeks ago so the Bison have to win tonight if they want to go through. There are no away goals so a single goal victory by the Bison sends us to overtime and possibly penalties.
7:33pm
Good evening and welcome to live updates from tonight's EPL semi-final second leg match between the Basingstoke Bison and the Slough Jets at the Basingstoke Arena.
This is the first time we have done live ice hockey updates and there may be some teething problems, such as laptop battery issues etc. Bear with me, I'll do my best to make it last!
