ANYONE looking to upgrade their cricket gear should pencil into their diary an opportunity to ‘try before you buy’ – hosted by Serious Cricket at Dummer Cricket Centre.

One of the UK’s leading cricket equipment retailers, Serious Cricket’s Ultimate Bat Experience Weekend is taking place over two days tomorrow (2pm to 8pm) and Saturday (9am to 2pm).

With the forthcoming cricket season looming on the horizon it will be a chance for players to have a go with trial equipment in the nets using the latest cricket bats, pads, gloves and helmets made by many of the leading manufacturers.

The idea was hatched by Serious Cricket’s equipment purchaser, Simon Rider, who liaises with all the cricket manufacturers.

Rider said: “This is the first time we have brought together all the major equipment suppliers and invited them to Dummer to showcase their products in a user-friendly way.”

He said: “Many cricketers come to our shops looking to upgrade or renew their equipment.

“Quite often they will be youngsters moving on from soft ball cricket keen to buy their first English willow bat to use against a hard ball.

“The ‘try before you buy’ day offers our customers a more informed decision and gives them more confidence in choosing the products we stock.”
