SIMON Parker and Amy Blagborough were crowned county table tennis champions at Testwood School in Totton.
In the under-11 boys’ competition, Parker, from Oakley Junior School, went through the whole competition without losing a set.
Not to be outdone, Blagborough, from Aldworth Science College, won the under-13 girls title – also without losing a set.
Both Parker and Blagborough will now travel to Doncaster on Saturday, April 20 to represent Hampshire in the Butterfly Schools’ Individual National Finals.
Other good performances came from Aldworth’s Ben Kiefer and Miles Bromilow, from Bishop Challoner, who both qualified from their groups in the under-13 boys’ event. They then won their first game in the knockout stages, only to both lose in the quarter-finals.
In the under-16 girls’ competition, Nicole Rogers, from Costello Technology College, qualified from her group, but then lost her semi-final.
