HOOK gave away two penalties, missed their own spot-kick and were reduced to nine men as Basingstoke and District League Premier Division leaders Basingstoke Royals march on with a 3-1 win.

The home side spurned early chances from Tom Davies and Brad Yates, before two needless penalties led to Nick Willcock scoring both in the space of three minutes.

Willcock completed his hat-trick on 42 minutes as he converted a pass from his brother Richard.

Hook scored three minutes into the second-half through Andy Parker and in a good spell Alex Eastman was brought down but Parker fired the penalty wide.

Peter Pike then saw red for a head-butt and the day ended badly for Hook when Parker departed after two bookings.

There were also Premier Division wins for Sherborne St John, Welly Old Boys and Kingsclere. In Division One, MFC Popley and Herriard Sports were winners, while Basingstoke Athletic, Baughurst Reserves, Sherborne St John Reserves and Skewers all won in Division Two.
