Penalty shoot-out defeat for Censo in Hampshire Cup

There will be no Basingstoke team in the final of the Hampshire A Cup this season after FC Censo went out following a penalty shoot-out against visiting Horndean Hawks.

Censo were a goal down after nine minutes but came back to level through Matt Bennett’s free-kick and Luke Richardson put them ahead on 65 minutes.

They held this lead until the eighth minute of added-time, when the Portsmouth side equalised to make the final score 2-2.

Neither side could score in the extra period and in the shoot-out it went to sudden death as Lee Chambers and Richard Kalwarczyk failed after Bennett, Luke and Joe Richardson were successful. Barney Powell hit his spot-kick over the bar, while Horndean did not miss with their sixth.
