THE Basingstoke Bison suffered a rare home defeat as they lost 3-1 to the Milton Keynes Lightning as their English Premier League title hopes took another dent on Sunday night.

The visitors opened the scoring from man-of-the-match Leigh Jamieson with the only goal of the first period.

Joe Rand equalised shorthanded to leave it 1-1 at the end of two periods.

MK won the game with two goals in the final session from Blaz Emersic and Kamil Tvrdek after Rand had been dismissed for checking to the head.
