TOTALLY Tennis coaches Danny Fowkes and Shyam Vithlani ran another successful ladies tennis weekend at Hampshire Court over the final weekend of the Australian Open.

The group of 10 ladies spent two nights at the hotel and enjoyed eight hours of coaching over the weekend with Fowkes and Vithlani working mainly on their doubles tactics.

They worked together as a pair on movements when playing doubles – as well as touch volleys and slice backhand. They also saw video analysis of their serve and forehands with feedback from coaches and played lots of matches.

The group enjoyed watching the Australian Open final as well – ahead of their final day of play, cheering on British number one Andy Murray who was trying to win his second Grand Slam title.

Group leader Fiona Carnie, who got the ladies together, said of the weekend: “Many thanks to Shyam and Dan for a great weekend of coaching. We learned a lot and really enjoyed it too.”

Talking about the weekend, Fowkes said: “Both Shyam and myself thoroughly enjoyed this with a lovely group of new ladies. It was great to be able to watch the Murray and Djokovic match in the Australian Open Final ahead of our final day of coaching.”

“Following the feedback from our first two tennis weekends was that the ladies liked the use of the iPad to film them individually for critical appraisal court-side to discuss technique, we have decided this is the best and worthwhile way to deliver this type of analysis and it proved a hit again this time.”

For all tennis fanatics, the tennis break at Hampshire Court is a weekend packed with tennis that includes expert coaching from Lawn Tennis Association licensed coaches.
