THE Stan Hardman League held its Annual General Meeting at Loddon Vale and, despite two proposals being put forward for consideration, there will be no change to the rules next season.

Trevor Carter from Odiham is the new league secretary.

There was no Trisham match affecting the Vale last week and, in the Bramley, Victory beat Chawton Park by 84-71. The result brings Victory within one and a half points of Chawton, but it would be nice to see somebody other than Victory win the league this year.

The Wessex League match due to be played last Sunday was postponed due to the weather conditions.

Last Saturday’s friendly match against Desborough was unfortunately lost 118-103.

Captain of the day Ray Harris had a substantial win 31-11 as did Sheila Girle 22-14. The remaining rinks all lost – Mick Jones (27-9), Stuart Logan (25-9), John Holmes (23-17) and Don Lee (18-15).

There was a better result the following day, when the club defeated Palmerston 136-90. Harris must have had a good holiday as he won 38-8.

Other rinks that won were Judy Foyle (27-15), John Holmes (23-7), and Steve Foyle (18-11). Losing rinks were Frank Fuller (26-16) and Steve Sallows (24-14).
