FC CENSO booked a place in the last eight of the Hampshire Junior A Cup thanks to a 4-2 extra-time win over visiting Old Basing Rangers.

Luke Richardson gave the home side the lead on 39 minutes, following Gary Stockwell’s free-kick. Rangers fought back strongly in the second half and were rewarded on 75 minutes when a free-kick taken by Tom Cox led to Paul Oliver equalising.

With no further scoring, the game went to extra-time and it was Rangers who took the initiative, going ahead through Rob Mooney when he was put through by Simon Harrison three minutes in.

Censo were quick to reply and re-took the lead as Richardson scored twice to complete his hat-trick.

Rangers then had a penalty awarded when Mooney was floored by Damien Smith, but Oliver’s spot kick was well saved by Dean Mahoney. In the closing stages Aaron Simpson netted Censo’s fourth.

Welly Old Boys also reached the quarter-finals of the competition thanks to a 3-0 win over AFC Gulf Western, but Tron and Basingstoke Athletic were both knocked out.
