ROTHERWICK booked a semi-final place in the Basingstoke Junior Cup after winning 5-3 at Forest View.

All Rotherwick’s goals were scored in the first half from Kristian Talbot, Nick Stanley, Stephen Farqhuar, Rob Snow and Chris Sawkins. Dan Walfrey, Simon Boswell and Gary Hicks replied.

Kaiser Wessex cruised into the second round of the Kelvin Cup after an 8-2 victory over AC Marstons last Sunday. Ross Norman opened the scoring for Wessex with an early goal, followed by a couple of spectacular lobs from 25-yards by Dean Barratt.

Steve Stanbridge, Samuel Cross, Andrew Gethin, Scott Harvey and Paul Coney completed the win.

Ghost fielded a skeleton team, starting with the bare 11 against Harriers in their Bernard Cornish Cup preliminary round tie.

They soon found themselves down to 10 men and then nine after 20 minutes due to a dislocated shoulder and a knee injury. At that point they trailed 2-1, having equalised through Ross Mortlock Sam Ashton equalised for Ghost again before the interval, but Harriers won 5-3.
