BASINGSTOKE cricketer Chris Wood was one of four Hampshire stars to extend their contracts with the county late last week.

Along with all-rounder Wood, teammates Jimmy Adams, Liam Dawson and James Tomlinson all signed two year deals with the Royals.

It means that Wood who had a year to run on his existing contract will stay at the Rose Bowl until the end of 2015.

Hampshire manager Giles White said: “All four have come through the Hampshire system and have an important part to play if we are to build on the success of 2012.

“Chris is a young all-rounder with real potential and will continue to develop.”

Wood enjoyed another good season with Hampshire this year with the highlights being his maiden first class century as well as holding his nerve to bowl Hampshire to victory in the Twenty20 final against Yorkshire.

As well as Wood, captain Adams and all-rounder Dawson have signed until the end of 2015 while bowler Tomlinson’s new contract runs out in 2014.
