BASINGSTOKE RFC's promotion hopes suffered a setback as they were beaten 14-5 at Wimbledon on Saturday.
The hosts kicked three penalties to lead 9-0 at half-time and extended their lead with a late try.
Basingstoke pulled five points back thanks to a score from second row Andy Hore but they left south London pointless after failing to make any further inroads.
The result means 'Stoke are now 10 points behind second-placed Chichester in the London One South table.
