THE Basingstoke Bison won their second top-of-the-table clash in the space of seven days over the Manchester Phoenix 5-2 to send their six points clear of the chasing pack.
The Herd scored both the goals in the first period from Andy Melachrino and Jaroslav Cesky.
Manchester pulled a goal back early in the second session from Ondrej Pozivll, but Melachrino's second made it 3-1.
The Phoenix once again reduced the lead after ciaran Long scored, but goals from man-of-the-match Doug Sheppard and Cesky in the final period made sure of the victory.
