KEITH Davies and Joss Bromley helped CI march into the third round of the Hampshire Intermediate Cup as they won 2-1 at FC Exchange last Sunday.

Republic of Chineham visited Boffins Milton and eased into the third round, winning 7-1.

AC Marstons were not so lucky, going down 10-0 to visiting Dynamo Cove.

North Warnborough found it impossible to raise a side by Friday night so reluctantly had to concede to home side Kavell FC.

Ghost took on visiting Affinion International in the Hampshire Junior A Cup and the home side made all the play in the first half but could not convert all their chances into goals. That changed after the break as Mason Saunders netted and Alex Thompson fired in a brace for a 3-2 win.

At the end of the day, Ghost reckoned they had forced 14 or 15 corners to the visitors’ five. The two scorers were outstanding but it was a very good overall team performance.

In another tie, division two’s AFC Hook lost to division three outfit Chineham Athletic 3-2.

Paul Best and Neil Hamlyn netted for the home side but Athletic pulled off a giant-killing act, with a Dan Dedman getting a brace and Art Cross converting a penalty.

Chineham travelled to Andover League leaders Test Valley Lions and found themselves two goals down by the halfway mark.

They conceded two more before Terry Collingridge chipped in from the right wing, the ball sailing clear over the head of the goalkeeper for a consolation goal.
