SHERBORNE St John beat North Warnborough on penalties at the end of an eight-goal thriller to book their place in the second round of the Basingstoke Junior A Cup.
John Lancashire gave North Warnborough the lead after 15 minutes – which they held until the 56th minute, when Alez Izzo equalised.
Soon after, Alex Roberts’ penalty gave them the lead, only for Lancashire’s second to force extra-time.
Sherborne regained the lead once more with a Roberts header from Jared Moore’s cross, but again the home side scored through Jack McKee. Dave Mills put the visitors in front again, but in the dying seconds Jack Fisher netted to set up penalties.
Lancashire, Fisher and Dan Framp converted for ’Borough but Izzo, Mills, Tom Davies and Steve Price all found the net as Sherborne went through.
