'Stoke romp to victory over Beckenham
12:41pm Sunday 4th November 2012 in Sport By John Boyman
BASINGSTOKE RFC made it six straight wins with a comprehensive 65-7 victory over visiting Beckenham at Down Grange on Saturday.
The hosts got off to a slow start and trailed 7-0 to Alex Santamaria's try after 20 minutes.
A Jack Parsons penalty and Freddie Gleadowe's try put them ahead before two further tries, both scored by Jamie Fish, put them 20-7 ahead at half-time.
'Stoke were rampant in the second half, running in a further seven tries to complete an ultimately comfortable victory.
Gleadowe's second of the game secured the four-try bonus point, while David Byett crossed the line twice and there were further scores for Gavin Dampies, Matt Horne, Ash Paterson and Jake Henderson.
